4th Braid Scouts

The 4th Braid Scout Group was formed in 1933 and ever since have been providing opportunities for growth of our members. We are based out of Greenbank Church and open to new members in the local area.

We have Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections, and shares premises and many activities with the Greenbank Explorer Scout Unit which is run by the Scouts' Braid district. All run with experienced volunteers who are here to help the group members with a diverse programme filled with activities to suit all abilities. There is something for everyone!

Interested to volunteer? We are always on the look out for more volunteers and helpers, click here for more information.

Our Values

The Scout Association aims to provide young people with exciting activities, conducted safely. That is not a guarantee that nobody will be injured, but activities are carefully risk assessed and supervised to reduce the chance of harm. More widely, Scouting is about gaining skills for life – teamwork, social skills, citizenship and leadership.

It is our duty in Scouting to always act with kindness, respect, and to keep the promise we make upon enrolment. While Greenbank Church is our meeting place, and we have very close connections over our long history, the Scouting movement is open to those of ALL faiths and none. The most important thing about being a member of the Group and Explorers is to have fun, being active and working with others.

For our young people of all ages, hanging out with friends (and making new friends) is an important part of what we do. Adults too can have fun, helping with activities or volunteering as leaders or at our amazing Jumble Sale!
